Wackrow Memorial Youth Award
Nominations open 31 March 2025!
The Wackrow Memorial Youth Award was established in 1987. The Award is in memory of the late Constable Graeme Wackrow, who was killed in a car accident while serving with the New Zealand Police while stationed in Dannevirke.
The Award recognises outstanding community service and contribution to the community by young people in the North Ward of the Tararua District.
Nominations will open on 31 March 2025 for the Wackrow Memorial Youth Award. Nominees must be between the ages of 14 to 19 years and involved with activities in the Dannevirke District and reside in the North Tararua Ward.
Nominees are judged on their community service to supporting and contributing to local voluntary organisations and groups, and their achievements in this area. The winner receives $500 and the Wackrow trophy for 2025, for second place $300 and third place $200.
