Public Notices

When applying for an alcohol licence to the Tararua District Licensing Committee, the applicant must publicly notify that they intend to sell alcohol at their business.

Once we've received an application for an alcohol licence and the required fee, we'll start to process it. We'll publicly advertise the application here on our website, and this will be available for a minimum of 10 working days (not including weekends or public holidays).

The applicant must also arrange to publish the public notice in the Bush Telegraph newspaper (either once or twice as is required) AND display a public notice in a prominent place at their business premises.

More information about an application, or these notices, can be made available on request.

Please contact via phone 06 374 4080 (North) or 06 376 0110 (South), email Alcohol-Licensing@tararuadc.govt.nz, or in person at one of our Council Service Centres.
