TDC 2025 Photography Competition

31 January 2025

This year the competition is named “Weathering wonderfully” – This is all about the sights of our district as a result of the weather at the time you take the photo, or it can be shortly after the weather has changed or it could be  a shot of something that is the way it is because of long exposure to the weather.  This theme can be interpreted in a variety of ways:

It could be a shot of crazy patterns on a frozen lake, or perhaps something that the weather has had an effect on, such as a gnarly windswept tree bent horizontally by decades of prevailing winds, or perhaps something material that has been left in the wild but is still with us and looking graceful as mother nature throws her best (and worst) at it in order to, one day, return it to the earth.

You can submit up to 4 great photos, you can chose to submit one for each season or all four from the same season or a mix, it's totally up to you.   Take your camera with you wherever you go - if the weather is spectacular, extreme or simply amazing, take a shot.   If you're out in the bush and you see something old that is manmade , still hanging on despite years of weather and seasons then take a shot because it won't be there forever!

Entry leagues are Adult, Primary/Intermediate  and Secondary.  Sub categories are:

  • Best artistic effect
  • Best mobile phone image
  • Best black and white image
  • May 2024 Southern Lights

There are cash prizes for each league and every entrant will have at least one of their images placed in a photo book on completion of the competition.  The overall winners image will be on the cover.
