Urban Design Strategy - we are creating a strategy to support how we grow our future spaces and places
Council wants to create an Urban Design Strategy to improve public spaces - like parks, walkways, and main streets - making our towns more connected, welcoming, and vibrant. This strategy will guide how these spaces grow alongside our communities.
This builds on the recently completed Urban Growth Strategy, which focuses on private land and infrastructure, ensuring development is supported by roads, water, and housing. The Urban Design Strategy complements this by focusing on how public spaces can support and enhance that growth.
Thanks to Better Off Funding from the Government, this project will help create sustainable, thriving communities. Now, we need your ideas to shape the future of our town centres. Council is working with local community boards and committees to develop this strategy and invite you to participate in our community drop-in sessions, below:
* Tuesday, 26 November 3:00 - 6:00pm - Woodville - Supper Room at Woodville Sports centre, 64 Ross Street, Woodville.
* Monday, 2 December, 5:30 - 7:30pm - Norsewood - Memorial Hall, 16 Coronation Street, Norsewood.
* Tuesday, 3 December, 3:00 - 6:00pm - Dannevirke - Conference Room, the Hub, 23 Gordon Street, Dannevirke.
