Good news for residents in Ākitio and Pongaroa - Tararua District Council has recieved the "all clear" to the the boil water notices that have been in place for both communities since Cyclone Gabrielle hit.

Both treatment plants and networks for the two villages have had their last test results just confirm that it is safe to lift the from both communities.

Council is thanking residents for their patience while staff went through this process of ensuring that the water was safe to drink after the notices were put in place following impacts from Cyclone Gabrielle and consistent heavy weather.
