Tararua District Council provides and maintains cemeteries for burials or interment of ashes, ensuring spaces for remembrance and providing enquiry services for all Council-owned cemeteries.

Our dedicated staff and contractors work to ensure that cemeteries are maintained to a high standard, reflecting respect for those interred and their visiting friends’ and families.

Council’s Facilities team manages cemetery administration, including maintaining the cemetery database of all new and historic records, handling queries, and coordinating burial arrangements.

Day-to-day operations and maintenance are carried out by experienced private contractors.
